Overview
ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs has 50 Steam achievements. Most unlock naturally through normal play — cleaning, repairing, online orders and money milestones. A handful require deliberate purchases or specific story choices.
⚠️ Known issue: one achievement in the current build (v1.0.0) is reported as
not unlocking even when its condition is met — a 100% run may be impossible until a patch. See the
FAQ for status.

Hidden Achievements (Triggers Unconfirmed)
The 5 remaining achievements are hidden — their unlock conditions are not yet confirmed (unverified). Community names as of the launch build:
| Achievement | Status |
|---|
| Ghost in the Frame | Hidden — trigger unconfirmed |
| Rock for the Ages! | Hidden — trigger unconfirmed |
| Ronin | Hidden — trigger unconfirmed |
| Melancholy | Hidden — trigger unconfirmed |
| Globalization | Hidden — trigger unconfirmed |
The names themselves hint at the game's themes — a ghost in a photo frame, an old rock song, a wandering swordsman, quiet sadness, a shop that went global. Guesses are being tested, but nothing is confirmed as of the launch build.
Easter Eggs: Parody Brands
ReStory is a love letter to mid-2000s Akihabara, and half the fun is spotting the references. Nearly every brand in the game is a legally distinct parody of real Y2K hardware — with one notable exception: Atari hardware is officially licensed and appears under its real name.
| Real-World Item | In-Game Name | Notes |
|---|
| Nokia 3310 | Pokia 3310 | The iconic brick phone; your first repair is Hashimoto's Pokia |
| Nokia N-Gage | Pokia Njoy | Parody of Nokia's game-phone hybrid |
| Motorola Razr | Autorolla Razor | Flip phone; also the one profitable new-part build (unverified figures) |
| Tamagotchi | Eggotchi | Virtual pet with the same name rhythm |
| Sony Walkman | Nony Goman | Cassette player; the hardest job in the game |
| Sony PlayStation | Nony PlayMachine | Home console parody |
| Sony PSP | Patento BS | Handheld; appeared in the demo |
| Polaroid instant camera | Palaloid | Instant camera parody |
| Sony Aibo | Robodog | Robot pet parody |
| Xbox / Nintendo consoles | Xi-Box / Patendo | Reported in reviews (unverified for in-game appearances) |
| Firefox browser | Gozilla Fairfox | The in-game Y2K browser (Godzilla + Firefox) |
| Rakuten | Packuten | Where you buy repair licenses |
| Review apps | Reviewme.not | The in-game review site |
| Online store | Binotaro | Marketplace storefront |
The parody rule: real-world brand name → same consonant skeleton, legally distinct spelling. The developers reportedly kept these deliberately close to the originals for the nostalgia payoff.
Easter Eggs: Officially Licensed Atari
The Atari 2600, Atari Lynx and Atari CX40 joystick appear under their real names through an official collaboration — the only licensed hardware in the game. You'll meet the Atari CX40 early: the upstairs neighbor asks you to fix one for a
Pac-Man tournament.
Easter Eggs: Shop Decorations
The shop decorations are packed with references. Each grants Zen Points toward the A Place of Zen achievement (100+ points). Community-confirmed values:
| Decoration | Zen Points | Real-World Reference |
|---|
| Ghostbusters-style figure | +9 | Ghostbusters |
| Kaiju | +8 | Japanese monster movies |
| Prism Night Light | +8 | — (period-authentic decor) |
| Bonsai | +7 | Japanese culture |
| Stormtrooper-style Helmet | +7 | Star Wars |
| Baseball Glove | +5 | — |
| Big Mouth Billy Bass | +4 | The famous singing novelty fish |
| Shoji Lamp | +4 | Japanese architecture |
| Troll | +4 | Troll doll |
| Maneki-neko | +3 | Japanese lucky cat |
| Seashell | +3 | — |
| VHS Tape | +2 | Home video era |
| Daruma Doll | +2 | Japanese wish doll |
Fastest route to 100 Zen: combine the highest-value items first — Ghostbusters (+9), Kaiju (+8), Prism Night Light (+8), Bonsai (+7), Stormtrooper Helmet (+7) — before filling out with the cheaper decor.
Easter Eggs: Hidden Secrets in Gameplay
1. Hidden dirt. Some parts carry grime that is invisible at default zoom — inspect edges, backs and connector areas, and zoom in. (See the
Cleaning Guide.)
2. Customers hide information. Dialogue isn't flavor text — customers casually mention things like spilling coffee on a device months ago, or hint that something important is hidden inside the hardware. Listening reveals issues not listed on the repair ticket.
3. The post-it number. Inside the landlord's big phone repair you can find a phone number written on a post-it note — your choice of what to do with it is one of the game's branching moments. (See the
Story Walkthrough.)
4. The slow Y2K browser. The in-game internet is deliberately slow and period-accurate — the loading times are the joke. The Unlock-ToolKit CD (needed for the
11001 reprogramming achievement) is bought from Gozilla Fairfox.
5. Mid-2000s music and atmosphere. The lo-fi radio and soft art style are themselves period tributes — one of the game's most-praised features in reviews.
Open Questions (Unverified)
- Whether Xi-Box / Patendo devices actually appear as repairable units in the full game (reported in reviews, not yet confirmed in-game).
- Whether any fully hidden locations or rooms exist beyond the shop (no reports so far).
- Whether the Atari collaboration includes devices beyond the 2600, Lynx and CX40 in future updates.
