Overview

ReStory lets you make every repair yours: stickers and paint turn finished devices into customized pieces of Y2K nostalgia — and chasing the sticker milestones is a fast, cheap path to three achievements. This guide covers where stickers come from, how painting works, and the fastest route to 100 applications.

Stickers — What They Are

  • Cosmetic decorations you buy and apply to devices — purely decorative, no gameplay effect on repair outcomes
  • Bought from the depot store's "accessory" tabs
  • Applied to devices before they go back to the customer (the same hand-off as painting)

Sticker application also counts toward sticker-count achievements (below), which makes the "useless" cosmetic system one of the easiest achievement farms in the game.

Painting Devices

  • Custom Orders Available — you can paint a client's device before returning it (tied to the "Custom Orders Available" achievement)
  • Painting is part of the customization step in the repair flow — after repair, before return
  • A device can combine paint, cleaning, repair, and reprogramming in one order (the Jack of All Trades achievement needs exactly that mix)

Sticker Achievements

AchievementConditionNotes
Instant CoolApply a sticker to a deviceThe first of the three; unlocks early (33.6% of players per Steam stats)
Instant Cool-erApply 25 stickers to devicesRequires deliberate sticker use
Sticker BombingApply 100 stickers to devicesThe grindy one — but cheap to farm

All three are straightforward: buy stickers, apply them, repeat.

Fastest Way to 100 Sticker Applications

  1. Buy stickers in bulk from the depot accessory tabs whenever you visit the depot — don't wait for a specific occasion
  2. Sticker every device you repair — even small walk-in jobs count one application each
  3. Combine with painting: a painted-and-stickered device covers customization in a single order
  4. Chain with the repair grind: the Achievement Guide recommends folding sticker application into normal repair routines — no detour needed, roughly one sticker per device repaired
  5. Marketplace flips count too: restored and resold devices (see the Money & Profit Guide) can be stickered before resale — two uses per device

At roughly one device per order and one sticker per device, 100 stickers falls out of normal play in the mid-game — you only need to remember to apply them.

Sticker Economy Tips

  • Stickers are cheap — they're the low-cost entry into the accessory tab, and they never affect repair success or customer satisfaction (awaiting confirmation on any hidden customer reactions, but no reports so far)
  • They're the cheapest achievements in the game — no license, no rare parts, no competition wins required; just depot trips and device hand-offs
  • Customization before return — remember the paint-and-sticker step happens at the return hand-off, the same step where kids' origami requests and delivery-agent interactions trigger (see the Story Walkthrough)
Next steps: See how sticker and painting milestones fit the full completion list in the Achievement Guide, and find the devices you'll be decorating in the Device Database.
